MUSIC BUSINESS CLASS
CLASS description:
Dive head first into the music industry with a crash course covering everything from the history of recorded music to current and future careers in the music industry and how to leverage yourself as a singer/songwriter. Join Matt from Warner Music Group this summer as he tackles the fundamentals of the music business, with an emphasis on the upcoming digital age of music.
Students will be responsible for choosing an (imaginary) artist and developing a plan for every area of their career, from market placement to branding to digital strategy to publicity and everything in between.
Between Matt’s background studying music business and his various work with management companies, major labels, and production houses, he holds a unique perspective of the current and future state of the music industry.
This is a camp not only for those who are interested in working in the music industry, but also for those who just want to learn more about the business. The recommended age for this camp is 12+.
